The Avengers represent this context by Emma Peel being the main character, she played the authoritative powerful role of a secret agent, she wore a sexy catsuit to represent her femininity and modernity, and having a man by her side, helping her through her mission. This social context influenced the Avengers by them putting a woman in an powerful position and putting her in a sexy outfit to represent the freedom woman had earned. As well as that by her having Steed by her side conveys in the 60's woman were still expected to have a man by there side, helping them throughout there life.
