Mise en scene

This is a french term meaning "in the scene or frame". It is essentially everything in a scene apart from camera, editing and sound such as, settings, props, facial expression, makeup,costume,lighting, colour and positioning of character.


Colour

Denotation-RED
Connotes anger, danger, warning and romance.

Denotation-BLUE
Connotes the sky, ocean, chill and sadness.

Denotation-YELLOW
Connotes happiness, sunshine and joy.

Denotation- GREEN
Nature and sick/illness, Jealousy/envy. 

Denotation- BLACK
Death, mourning, sadness and night time.

Denotation- WHITE
Calm, neutral, heaven and angels.

Foreground- Front of the shot

Back round-The part of a picture, scene, that makes a setting for the main figures or objects, or appears furthest from the viewer.
Related image Middle ground- The objects positioned between the foreground and back ground.

Deep focus- When the foreground and background are both in focus.

Focus pull- The camera focuses on the foreground so the background is blurry  to the background being focused and so the foreground is blurry, or the other way around.
